I love this recipe because it's one of the easiest recipes you will ever make and requires just two ingredients. Unsulphured Molasses and your favorite Granular sugar substitute of choice ( not powdered ) I love to use Xylitol*, Erythritol or Lakanto Classic sweeteners. You can also make this with a mix of sweeteners. I like to keep things simple so I usually use one sweetener.

* Xylitol is safe in humans but not safe in dogs. Please keep away from your pets or use Erythritol instead.

Before you ask... Aren't molasses made from sugar? Yes they are but the amount of molasses used in this recipe is so little compared to the regular Brown Sugar and will be negligible when used in a Whole recipe and portioned.

1 Tablespoon (Tbsp) of Molasses contains 15 g of carbohydrates while 1 teaspoon (tsp) has only 5g of carbs. In this recipe I used 1 teaspoon of unsulpuhured molasses to 1 ½ cup of sweetener with a serving size of 1 teaspoon which means this recipe has 72 servings which amounts to 0.9g of carbs per serving. Even if you decide to use up to a tablespoon of this recipe, a serving will be 2.7g

How to make this sugar free brown sugar

As easy as ABC. Seriously it is. No equipment needed that is if you don't mind getting your hands a little messy. You can get your little ones to help out with that. Make sure to remind them to wash their hands before and after the mixing game lol.

You just mix the molasses and sugar substitute till evenly combined. See Pictorial guide below.

Pro tips

I find it easier to mix when You Pour the molasses into the sugar free sweetener and not the other way round.

If you don't want to use your hands or your little ones are not around you when you want to make this sugar free brown sugar you could use a fork or preferably a food processor ( which is way easier than the fork but you will have an extra kitchen equipment to wash) I guess you see why I would rather use my clean hands ?

I also prefer to use my hands or the food processor over the fork because of the consistency of the molasses. It's thick and not so spreadable. It takes quite some elbow grease and patience to use the fork.

Your hands or food processor help to break up the clumps easily and get your brown sugar substitute ready faster.
